Summadayze 2012 – It’s a wrap!

Logic would tell you on a 38-degree-day to stay out of the sun for long periods of time and refrain from any intense physical activity. Generally speaking this is sound advice. For your health’s sake it is probably best to hide from such conditions…

Then again Summadayze doesn’t go down ‘every’ day.

This New Year’s Day saw 25’000 punters brave the UV-rays to ring in 2012 the best way they know how – One hell of a party courtesy of the hoodlums at Future Entertainment. The perfect example of a congregation of partygoers encompassing a talent for wild limb-throwing moves against all elements.

Love That Music took control (And naming rights…) of the ‘Teal’ stage with Rob Pix, James Fava, J Heasy, WTRS, Yasumo, Tony Warden and Circus Circus all contributing to the copious amounts of sweat dripping from places-previously-thought-unsweatable.

Perfectly positioned to the main stage’s left, LTM’s Tony Warden and Circus Circus took on the opening segment – A crowd influx flooding the gates and making headway to all things Teal-related. The boys warming-up/setting-the-standard/an-introduction to the sound and feel that was to come. Yasumo then took to musical duties and eased revelers in with their Disco/Funk/French House capabilities. The duo smashing out tune after tune of uplifting and charismatic tracks.

Next up: WTRS and J Heasy. As only WTRS and J Heasy can do, the pair turned on the charm and ultimate-crowd-readability. Lifting the spirits and getting on their feet anyone within a listening circumference. Even the most disheveled festival part-taker.

After an energetic Stafford Brothers set, Rob Pix and James Fava certainly had their work cut out for them. The DJs version of big shoes to fill. In true LTM form they showed why they’re the head-honchos and matriarchs of the team and threw-down an array of their finest selection. Featuring Pix’s latest track as well as some close-to-home classics; it’s safe to say they know how it’s done. And done well.

Impromptu dance moves, beer throwing and microphone banter all apart of the boys appeal…

With a colossal LTM family in tow, the troop certainly delivered with their infectious, booty-shaking, contagious tracks and edits. Maintaining the vibe, enthusiasm and zest is no easy task but there were no such obstacles for the crew. Sharing the stage with Busy P, 12th Planet, MightyFools, Ruby Rose and Ajax – Those lucky enough to let their ears catch a glimpse, weren’t heading elsewhere in a rush…

Housing sunburn/unsightly tan-lines, dehydration and/or broke? We all know it was worth it. Attempting not (But failing miserably…) to sound cliché – Music was the day’s winner. Props to Snoop Dogg and he’s ability to clear out all side-stages!

Gratitude to all those involved.

Sometimes there isn’t a word strong enough for what needs to be said.

But here goes; Thank-you.
